|A huge crowd of people, a great car turnout, and Chamber of Commerce weather made for another great weekend at the Mopar Nationals.|
The 35th annual Mopar Nationals at Columbus, Ohio, took place under perfect weather conditions with a huge turnout of cars and people. I would have to say it is good to be a Mopar fan in 2015. We have the old Mopars from the ’60s and ’70s that still are near and dear to our hearts. We have today’s muscle with 700 HP Hellcat Challengers roaming the streets with their sports car brother, the Viper.
I attended my first Mopar Nationals in the mid 1980's and have seen the highs and lows of Mopar performance. Being 59 years old sucks in so many ways, but I was lucky enough to grow up when you could walk into a showroom and see a Hemi Road Runner or Cuda with a sticker price of under $5,000, fully loaded! I also suffered through the ’80s and ’90s when a front wheel drive turbo car called a Daytona was the hot rod of choice for the Pentastar crowd -- sad times indeed.
