Monster Mopar Weekend at St. Louis

Every year Gateway International Raceway hosts the Monster Mopar Weekend event and every year the Mopar faithful from all over the Midwest gather to buy and swap parts, show their cars, bench race, and drag race. Despite some inclement weather on Friday, the pits, show car area, swap meet and manufacturers midway were jammed with vendors, old and new parts, old and new fans, and Mopars as far as the eye could see.

Mopar Max Editor Jeff Burk, Editor at Large Bret Kepner and Mopar expert and racer Jok Nicholson were at the track just cruising the pits, watching the drag racing and meeting with the fans and competitors. Here is their pictorial coverage of this year’s event.

DRAG RACING

Albert Lee conquered the largest field of Nostalgia Super Stockers ever assembled, a massive seventy-one car field!

Longtime Nostalgia Super Stock campaigner Clay Kossuth (above) publicly debuted his new A/FX Coronet with outrageous passes while his son, Clay Jr., (below) took some even wilder rides in his new wedge-powered front-engined digger.
