Mopar Sportsman Racers at Phoenix

While Mopar cars won the Funny Car and Pro Stock classes, the Stock and Super Stock eliminator competitors didn’t have their best showing at the Checker Schuck’s Kragen NHRA Nationals at Firebird Raceway, but they looked good. Here are some of the classics in attendance.

Chad Loge from Brentwood, CA, campaigns a B/SA ’70 Roadrunner and an SS/LA Barracuda, thereby having the best of both worlds. The Roadrunner made two rounds while the “California Missile” didn’t have such luck.

John Shaul brought his ’64 Fury all the way from Fultonham, NY. The Plymouth 426-powered A/SA was out in the second round.

Jeff Jerome’s immaculate little ’73 Duster from Los Angeles was eliminated in the third round.
