At the NHRA season ender at Pomona, Mopar stalwart Ron Capps, driving a Funny Car with a Mopar body and a Hemi for power, uses the chutes to slow after a four-second, 300-mph lap.

Other than a few races in the deep South, the 2008 drag racing season is finished. Before it was over, though, there were a couple of big races on the West Coast at the Strip in Las Vegas and the Fairgrounds at Pomona. Our Mopar Max photogs were at these races and sent us a few images of mighty Mopars. Please enjoy.

Bob Griffith’s supercharged Hemi-Viper driven by Eric Lenore competed at the recent Street Car SuperNationals at the Strip at Las Vegas. He qualified 16th with a 6.48/209 effort.

Steve Cook brought his ’69 Road Runner powered by a 510-inch supercharged Hemi to the SuperNats. He didn’t make the quick 32 but did manage a respectable best of 7.95/168,49. We love the flames!

Allen Johnson, with former SS/AA racer and his dad Roy building the engines, was the strongest of the NHRA Mopars this year and went deep into eliminations in their Dodge Stratus.
