DRO photographer James Drew  was at the last Goodguys sanctioned (we think) Bakersfield Fuel and Gas Championships and while there shot a few Mopar competitors for us. The only Mopar-bodied car  that won an Eliminator was Lee Jenning’s gorgeous, nitro-hemi equipped  ’71 ‘Cuda. Jennings ran under siz-seconds almost every lap during the weekend and defeated Dennis LaCharte’s ’68 ‘Vette (also hemi-powered) in the final of Nostalgia Funny Car.

Obviously there was some bracket racing as the nine-second Mopar in the far lane dialed in the nines sits while Brain Clark’s ten second car leaves.

Chris Stock’s little Dodge pulls the wheels on its way to another ten-second lap. Way Cool!
